MyDVD/Showbiz and Hauppauge

I bought a Sony DRU-510a DVD writer, and loaded up some of the bundled software. I began to have problems immediately with SageTV: live TV would stutter, sometimes freezing for several seconds at a time. I figured it must have been a conflict with the new software, which included Veritas' RecordNow, DLA, and SimpleBackup, Sonic's MyDVD, and Arcsoft's Showbiz. I removed the latter two, which then seemed to cause my PVR-350 to no longer be seen by Sage. I then reinstalled the Hauppauge drivers, and everything seems to be back to normal.

Has anyone else experienced these sorts of problems? I wanted to play around with menu editing and so forth, but killing Sage is out of the question.

Yep - had exactly the same thing. Removed MyDVD and Showbiz and all was well.

You need any that other junk but Veritas RecordNow is OK but if you have Nero use it and use Ulead DVD MovieFactory it far better then MyDVD is.
You my have manul unregistry the Ligos junk which can cuase problem over rifing all other mpeg codec.
