Hi

I am looking to use Sage Tv to schedule recordings and to automatically change channels on my Amstrad Sky digibox.

Reading other posts on this forum USB-UIRT seems to be the way to go. I take it that the USB-UIRT learns the commands from the sky remote - and when sage tells it to move up a channel etc it knows the relevant command to send out. Is that about right? And Sage can do this without other software e.g. Girder?

How does this hang together with my Hauppauge remote? The Hauppauge comes with an IR receiver that plugs into the back of the card. If I want to use my Hauppauge remote to control sagetv and I have a USB-UIRT, do I need the Hauppauge IR receiver at all? Will the USB-UIRT work as a receiver for my Hauppauge remote and control my digibox?

Also on an unrelated topic - can .m3u playlists be imported into sage?

On another even more unrelated topic - when I hover my mouse over this emoticon  it says nod. I dunno but he doesn't look like he's nodding to me!

One other thing - somebody posted in this forum that you can power a pc on and off with USB-UIRT. Has anybody been using that feature?

thanks

Will the USB-UIRT work as a receiver for my Hauppauge remote and control my digibox? You could use the Hauppauge receiver or the UISB-UIRT as your receiver. For the H receiver, you would have to continue using their software (ir.exe) to control teh receiver & send keys/events to SageTV. For the USB-UIRT, SageTV can use it directly as the receiver.

Just be aware that if you use the Hauppauge remote with the USB-UIRT, that you will need to teach each button to SageTV twice, since that remote uses a toggle code that sends 2 different commands each time you keep pressing the same button. (Don't press any other buttons between teaching the first code & the second code for each button.)

Also on an unrelated topic - can .m3u playlists be imported into sage? No, v2.2 just uses its own playlists.

On another even more unrelated topic - when I hover my mouse over this emoticon  it says nod. I dunno but he doesn't look like he's nodding to me!I don't know what the nod you are talking about... must be a langauge difference thing. :p
