Hey all!

I have created a new community that focuses on software for HTPCs. This includes frontends, media players, utilites, etc. On the site there is news about HTPC software, a version tracker, user submitted reviews, and a forum for discussion about all things software for HTPCs. Come check us out at www.htpcsw.com

My main idea for the site is to have a place where people can get help with programs they want to use for their HTPC. I know when I was building my first HTPC it was hard to find a lot of help with certain programs. Most of the information I got was about what hardware to choose and what was compatiple with what. This was all extremely helpful, but once I got the thing built I was a little lost when it came to choose what software to use. There are all kinds of neat little programs that do very specific tasks and I want my site to be a place where people can go to find out about all these programs.

Thanks but this might fall under rule #5 of the Forum Rules (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10240):
Spam, advertising, and troll posts will be deleted. (An interesting commentary on trolls can be found here.) Please do not argue with such posts.
To your defense, I have experienced the helpfulness of one-stop-shops for certain projects. On the other hand, Google has been it nearly every time.

to hobbes defense it's not really spam, because it's applicable to the folks who post here at Sage forums, and it's not really a commercial product, although i think his website has an ad or two, and it's certanitly not a troll...

I think it's a useful site for people that are using other applications than just Sage for their HTPC experience, especially the version tracker he has posted.

teknubic-

I appoligize if this post came accross as spam. I am not trying to just post an ad for my site willy nilly. I thought this would be a helpful resource for the members of this community. If it is deemed to be spam by the administrators, then by all meens it should be removed and I appologize. My intent was mealy to post a link to a relavant and hopefully helpfull site.

Naylia-

Thanks for the support! I glad you find the version tracker useful.

I am also working on a feature comparison chart for a large list of front ends. If anyone here at the Sage forums would like to add input for Sage, please come visit and post your thoughts.
