When I try to play a DVD through 1.4.8 RC1 I just get a 100% utilized sageTV program and a black screen. After the install it broke my powerdvd install so I re-installed powerdvd to fix that issue. I would love to be able to play dvds through sagetv. Any tips out there?

Can you attach the portion of your log file when this occurred?

Yeah, logs are good. :) Also, I'm curious, how do it 'break' your PowerDVD install?

PowerDVD ran very rough and things were skipping all over the place.
Here is the complete history:
I KNOW PowerDVD worked because I just used it.
I installed 1.4.8RC1
Tried the DVD
It worked! It was kinda fuzzy so I tried PowerDVD and that is when it was jerky and skipping all over
Rebooting didnt help
I removed, rebooted and installed PowerDVD again
PowerDVD works great but now SageTV's DVD doesnt.
I'll also try to re-install SageTV tonight. BTW what is the best codec for the DVD section? I'm outputing my graphics card to a component out module to my HDTV monitor.

Just reinstall SageTV. I don't know why it breaks PowerDVD, but if DVD playback works in SageTV at that point, does it really matter that powerdvd won't? (besides the fact that it should still work)

Ok, new problem.
I reinstalled sagetv and it play a DVD once! Everytime I try to play the dvd it tells me I have a region issue. However powerdvd works fine. Attached is the log.

Didn't see any error messages in that log file. Can you try again?
and...should you be having any region issues because of something you're doing? (i.e. is the error correct)

Sorry about that. Attached is the right one! You can see the DVD bad airing message. BTW If sage starts and doesnt see the DVD drive (mine is F:\) does it remove the setting? I ask this becuase my dvd drive is firewire and sometimes it isnt there or on. If sage ignores my setting I would have to restart it to watch a dvd once I plug the drive back in.
