I added these two lines to my Properties file and now get fairly decent MPEG2 DVD files to allow 2 one hour shows (with commercials) on one DVD with a little room to spare:

mmc/python2_encoding/MyDVD=videobitrate\=4500000|width\=720|height\=480|audiobitrate\=224|vbr\=1|peakvideobitrate\=6000000|outputstreamtype\=10

seeker/recording_qualities/2.5MB\ sec.=MyDVD,224,48000,6000000

Anyone have any other encoder settings? It would be great to be able to squeeze more video on a DVD+RW...

Thanks,
Lauren

Encoding settings depend a lot on personal preference on what is acceptable quality. Experiment with lower bitrate numbers and find out what you are will to accept. Personally I'm happy with the standard 1.8GB DVD setting.

I used to use the standard DVD settings used by Sage, but I couldn't get 2 hours of my shows to fit on them without re-encoding.

That's why I was asking what other *custom* settings other people are using so that others, like myself, can try them out.
