I just downloaded the media extender client and did a clean install of the latest version of SageTV. I've had Sage for 2 years now and bought the Media MVP about the same time...
the problem i am having now is that my hauppauge 45 button remote won't work now. It works fine if I boot up the MVP software, but does nothing even if I uninstall the MVP software and get Sage to show up on my TV. it doesn't even recognize the remote if i push any buttons when the Sage is on my TV...
i feel like i've tried every combination i could think of and nothing seems to be working.
thoughts/suggestions? anything would be appreciated....

I just downloaded the media extender client and did a clean install of the latest version of SageTV.What media extender client do you mean? SageTV's support for the MVP is built into the SageTV installation. If you are downloading & using something separate for the MVP, that isn't the way the built-in MVP support works.

The support for that remote is also built in, so I'm just curious if this is what you mean. If the MVP connects & loads the UI, the remote should be working.

Sorry, I bought the client license for the MVP (i'm correct in thinking that I had to buy this for it to work smoothly, right?). I'm only using SageTV software on my computer...

Yes, this was the case last night, but now I can't even get the SageTV UI to show up on my TV through the MVP...last night, the UI came up, asked me to select a language, but the remote didn't work so, i couldn't...
i have PVR 150, XP operating system, MediaMVP, SageTV 4.1, SageTV MVP Client License...

If none of that helps & no one else has a suggestion that works, I would contact tech support.
Oh -- since you are connecting again, try unplugging the MVP for several minutes, delete any properties files in the "Clients" subdirectory in the SageTV dir where SageTV.exe is located, then retry the MVP. No guarantees, of course. ;)

I'll try and contact tech support tomorrow...i tried the previously mentioned options and can't seem to get the remote to work...everything else seems to be working fine. records fine, can control everything from the PC, just can't get the remote to work.
and i don't know if it makes a difference, but why, when going through the MVP and my TV, does it take me through the whole configuration process again? Because it's a client? not that matters because my remote doesn't work, but i was just wondering...
thanks for your help!
