If your using Sagerecorder...and have more than 1 HD..or multiple HD'a can you allocate were to store recorded programs? How would that work with a Raid 0 storage arrangement? So that you know when your HD(s) is full and may need to install another HD or delete programs? Any advice on how that works with SageTV software...

SageRecorder can only save to one drive at a time as there is no intelligent drive control. You will have to change the directory SageRecorder saves to manually when the first drive fills up.

SageTV would do all of this automatically, it allows for multiple hard drive selection.

So are you saying that a Raid arrangement would not be the best route to go..but go the route of partioning and having individual drives? I would appreciate any advice..Thanks

You'd only need to use a RAID if you wanted lightening fast access (striped) or wanted some level of protection if a drive went down (parity / mirrored disks etc.).
I think that would be a bit overkill, unless you have a lot of capture cards in a server and the server fed the whole house. For a single unit, I don't think it warrants the extra expense.
