Lirc has built in support for usb_mce ( old & new ) and iMon usb receivers in the Divine 4/5's , is there a way for STV to use LIRC?
I've tried to emerge lirc, but I get errors about the kernel config missing.

Do I need to genkernel and compile a new kernel, & will STV still work after a new kernel install.

I want to have the following:
be able to automount NFS share
Have Lirc for my remote
Recompile a 2.6.15 kernel for support for my ATI HDTV Tuner

Thanks all

That's the only thing I think you will get defeated on without some help from the developers. Everything else looks like a big go if you've the time to do the tweakage, bear in mind that the system included for this is very minimal yet clean and you probably do need to retaylor your kernel for what you want to do.

Does STV Linux have HDTV Support, or is the ATI HD the isssue?

I think it's taylored to work only with the specified hardware that it lists (basically PVR-150, etc...) so unless you can somehow hijack it to make it work with some other form of hardware (like the ATI HDTV) then I don't think you can get it to go.

if you add
LIRC_DEVICES="change to driver name for a list goto lirc.org"
to your /etc/make.conf file and emerge lirc you can get many recievers working. Because of the script Sage uses the only blaster that can be used is off the hauppauge card.
