I have mounted a DVD image as a drive using Alcohol 120 ...Is there a way to use the MVP to recognize this drive as a DVD??? and play it

Apparently in my SAGE client on my laptop ..the play DVD option is playing a DVD(How it does this ... I don't know). All I know there is no DVD in the DVD drive, but a DVD is playing

the short of it ... where does the MVP(or the clients) look for a DVD?
can we tell SAGE what Drive(s) contains DVD ???

Hi Craig,

DVD playback via the MVP is currently not possible. That is because the MVP doesn't support AC3 audio in it's hardware. Sage is working on a transcoder that will allow 'on the fly' conversion of the audio into a format that the MVP recognizes natively. I know it's not the news you wanted to hear, but DVD support is something that most users are dying for and it is being worked on.

Or just loading up the beta 4.1.11 and watching VOBs???

4.1.11 (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17079)

Howdy all! SageTV 4.1.11 Beta is now available.

SageTV V4.1.11 Release Notes 3/30/06

2. Added support transcoding of VOB files when played through the MVP (the files must have a .vob extension at this time)
3. Added support for seeking in VOB files that are being transcoded
