With the begining of the fall TV Season upon us, I'm curious what people are looking forward to watching. So, what shows will be added to your favorites this year?

I caught the premeire of Carnivale on HBO. It's strangely intriguing, so I'll watch it for at least a few more episodes. I'm dying for Ed, West Wing, and Law & Order to start back up.

Vegas baby, Vegas... the new Las Vegas drama on NBC on Mondays. The show I can't wait for is the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel but I don't think it will start back up until 2004.

Enterprise is still on the air? That's kind of suprising.

Why is it suprising that Enterprise is still on? I was not into it at the begining but I think its one of the best shows on now.

Basically, the shows ratings were never stellar, but last season they dipped significantly. There was a lot of talk about the future of the show, and the health of the trek franchise as a whole. The movies haven't been doing all that great lately either.

Maybe they need to let it lie for 20 years, then revive the old cast just when people are getting nostalgic. Hey, it worked once!

For my money, tho, Enterprise is pretty good and I'll keep watching it until it gets yanked.

Someone mentioned 24 though? SageTV's search doesn't show any matches for that. When's it start?

Anyone know when The Shield is coming back?? The Sopranos?

Can't wait for 24 to start (10/28)... and am enjoying nip/tuck

So far, the F/X network has put out some really quality shows...

I think the sheild starts in January or March. They have a strange season. Last years was so short I dont think you could even call it a season!

All the cable channels are falling into the same structure... 13 episode seasons, with a long break in between. HBO pioneered this, and F/X ran with it...

In my opinion, this method allows for writers to plan the entire season and have most if not all of it completed before filming the first episode. It generally makes for a more cohesive storyline, and works exceptionally well for complicated dramas such as The Soprano's and The Shield...

If more cable stations follow this lead, I think more quality shows will be produced and you'll have rotating seasons of different shows to watch, and the break will always leave you wanting to get to the next season.

Has anyone been watching Carnivale on HBO? It's got me hooked, but I doubt it has the staying power of Sex and the City or the Sopranos. I just hope the resolve some of it's questions by the end of this season, otherwise I fear we'll be left hanging if it's cancelled.

Was the sheild even 13 episodes? It seemed like about 8!

I'll second the insomniac. Thats a great show.
Other then that. Scrubs, friends law and order, SVU, CSI, Without a trace is pretty decent.

Cheers,
