If I'm playing a game when sagetv starts recording a show I start having audio problems in the game. Everything else keeps running smoothly. Then when I quit the game and start watching the recorded show the audio is way out of sync. I know that my crappy DVCR card is supposed to handle all of the video compression, but what about the audio? Is my sound card being utilized in some way? I have ordered a PVR-250 and I'm hoping it helps with this since I'm led to believe that it doesn't have the audio sync problems of the DVCR.

Hmm i never ran into that effect though it does seem a more logical outcome on a DVCR.

What i experienced was no audio problems in the game and when i came out surprisingly the audio in the shows recorded in this time were in sync. The game by the way was GTA Vice city. It might have something to do with your sound card or some other hardware but thats just a shot in the dark.

Also to answer the question about how the audio is done on the DVCR. It is done in software useing i believe your audio card which and im a little out of my depth here but i belive your soundcard needs to support handling audio from 2 or more sources at once, But thats just a guess. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of the audio side of this will respond.
