Hi Guys,

I am building a Centos based network encoder with the OEM version 4.1.6.

System Spec
--------------
AMD Sempron 2600+
80GB
512MB
Onboard VGA - Headless using Win VNC
PVR-250
Centos 4.2 (Kernel 2.6.9-34.EL)
ivtv Version 4.1
Software RAID1,Samba, Mail Server, Asterisk VoIP server, Security Camera Monitoring (Thru SageTV)
---------------------------------------

Anyhow - Centos is runnning fine, ivtv is working - I used composite video input and can watch output from capture (cat /dev/video0 >/tmp/cap.mpg)

I have sagetv setup as a server - installmode 0 and when I start I get the following error

*******************************************
Sat 4/15 8:40:42.859 Error with DB file:java.lang.NullPointerException, attempting to restore backup.

--> See Attached Log Files

I have tried deleting Wiz.bin and Sage.Properties and starting again with no luck.

When I start SageClient.exe on a PC - The Linux server broadcasts its availability as a SageTV encoder but when I connect to it the error I get on the linux server is

*********************************************
java.lang.NullPointerException
at java.lang.System.arraycopy(Native Method)
at sage.p.az(Unknown Source)
at sage.p.<init>(Unknown Source)
at sage.bf.if(Unknown Source)
at sage.SageTV$3.run(Unknown Source)
Sat 4/15 8:53:21.172 Error w/SageTV client connection:java.lang.NullPointerException
**********************************************

and I get an error from the Client is "Java.Lang.NullPointerException".
--> See attached SageClient log file

Any Hints would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to build up an all-singing/all-dancing utility server for the home.

Cheers

Good News - For anyone interested

I just needed to run /opt/sagetv/app/keygen.sh

Works perfectly - I now have SageTV 4.1.6 as a headless encoder running on Centos.

Yay Sage....
