I've heard a couple reports of the same problem on the boards already but none of the fixes seem to work for me. I know that it must be the system on which placeshifter is running that is having the problem. I can use place shifter just fine on my laptop from the lan, but my main desktop does not give me any video, just sound and a black screen. The desktop is a P4 2.8 w/HT, 2 GB RAM, Matrox G550 with DualHead enabled. I'm getting the feeling that it has something to do with Overlay but I'm not savvy enough to know how to fix it. Perhaps it has something to do with my ignorance quite a while back in using "codec packs". I have since abandoned that and just install codecs as needed, but perhaps that has screwed things up for me on the desktop. I'd hate to have to start from scratch on this system just for Placeshifter, as it's been up and running for a good 2 years solid. Hopefully someone can give me some guidance for a simple fix. :)

I was having the same problem. I updated my DirectX drivers and it fixed it. It works GREAT now, I love this software.
