I am not using MVP or Placeshifter (yet), but from various posts in the forums I had the impression that both use the same kind of license, so if I buy a license I can use it for MVP and Placeshifter (of course not at the same time). Is this still true ?

If so, then I don't understand why there are both a "Placeshifter Connection License" and a "Client License for MVP" offered as separate products in the Sage Online Store. Is this one and the same, just sold under different names ?

Just curious ...

I thought them to be the same as well. I bought an MVP license when they were first released, and it works just fine as a Placeshifter license.

Perhaps the different part numbers are to track the demand for each type?

They are interchangeable, since that is the way it was explained to me for coverage in the manual & has been stated around here before. :)

Why are they listed separately? I don't know, but the idea of tracking the purpose of the sale sounds feasible.

Thanks everyone, this makes sense.

I think it might be a good idea to at least mention this fact somewhere on the product page, since it is a good selling point and not all potential customers will visit the forum or read the the corresponding section in the manual ...

You're absolutely right....I bought the placeshifter licence, and I saw no mention that it was the same as the mvp licence; of course I knew better. It's a good selling point, but they don't seem to make it clear in the store.

I was looking to get another Placeshifter/MVP license, and I noticed there were two seperate options now, one for the placeshifter and one for the MVP client. Are these licenses still allow both to be used? I have one license now that allows me to use placeshifter or MVP.
