I have had Sage + 2 clients since ver.2 but have been using BTV for the last year or so. Downloaded ver 5 and and I am thinking of swithcing back to Sage. However before I do so I would like to try out thse MVP extender as my wife has been using the MVP with the MVP interface in her hobby room. Seems that because I have a licensed copy of Sage I can not run the extender in trial mode. I am more than willing to buy an extender license if it works, is there any way I can tryout the extender for a few days ???

I believe that there is a seven day trial. IE- you enable the server and a client and are not required to enter a s/n during the trial period. Someone please correct me if I am wrong because I too will soon be hooking up my MVP.

I loaded V 5 8 Days ago and activated the server so I guess I've missed it.. Did try to connect the MVP to the server when I first loaded it but it would not connect, I assumed there was no trial period with a licensed copy.

The MVP and Placeshifter trial starts when you first connect either one of those, as far as I know. If you've never connected the MVP via SageTV's built-in support for it, it should work as a trial.

I just got my MVP yesterday, and it was automatic. I just plugged it into the network, and it was ready to go.

Don't know why it did not work the first couple of times I tried it, but it found it just fine yesterday.. It passed the WAF test and I must say it is a huge improvement on the original MVP software. It is faster and much more resonsive. Will be buying a license today. Now I need to develop an interface for my wife. Time to learn Studio I guess.
