Hi all,
I posted in General Discussion about this, but now I have more details.
If I load a SVCD file that I downloaded off the web into MPEG2VCR, and then save it (no edits at all), it saves a new slightly bigger file which plays fine.
If I capture (Adaptec Videoh! PCI AVC-2010) with SageRecorder to SVCD format, and do the same experiment (load, no edits, then save), the new file is SMALLER (by about 5%) and the playback is all jumpy (mostly during camera shot transitions).
What am I doing wrong? What is different about the SageRecorder capture MPEG streams?
Oh, if I take the SageRecorder MPEG stream, run it through TMPGEnc (basically re-encoding it to the same format it's already in), and run the test again, the file plays fine.
Help! I really want to use MPEG2VCR to edit out commercials, but I really don't want to start capturing until I figure this out!
Thanks,
Chris
