Hi there,

first of all, I like sagetv's ability to control several tuner/encodercards, that really rocks - a great usp.

I have 2 questions regarding remote control possibilities and encoding options.

I want to place my pvr far away from my tv and my living room (the noise) and would love to be able to remote control sagetv, preferably via a webserver (like SS) or Microsoft Remote Desktop
Is this possible?

I wasnt able to find any info whether it is possible to transcode recorded mpeg2 files in wmv automatically.
Do you "just" offer mpeg-support?

Best wishes,
Michael

Microsoft Remote Dekstop works with the latest beta version according to user reports. There will be a networked beta version out in the coming weeks which will offer more extensive networking options without using Remote Desktop.

If what you're trying to do is have a PVR server in one room and then a thin client box next to your TV; that'll be possible with the networking beta.

If you want to transcode the files you're going to have to do that outside of Sage. We don't have any WindowsMedia encoding support at this time.
