Is there any way to send a file from another application to Sage for playback? ie. use Sage to playback a file from Meedio.

That is very funny! :D Today I am starting work on a way to kind of do the opposite (get my Sage recordings into Meedio using my files).

UFGrayMatter and I in the Meedio forums have already tackled that for the most part. Take a look over at the Meedio forums. http://www.meedio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=229455#229455 go to the end of the thread. UFGraymatter has done some great work there.
Also look here for importing using .my files http://www.meedio.com/forum/about30052.html I like that integration, but to be honest I think Sage's player is much nicer, and much less of a hassle. Especially with the new addition of mplayer. I would prefer to playback things in Sage.

Great. Thanks. I'll take a look at that. Does the rule still apply where the item has to be in an import directory?

dunno. Never tried it, but I don't think it still applies.

To Import to meedio I use a SageTV Import plugin written by robertF. It uses Nielms webserver. I works great you just have to manipulate some tags.

ahhh yes I forgot about that importer. I never new it was working though. I am trying though to playback the movies I have in Meedio with Sage. I will try using nielm's suggestion later today.
