I'm moving house to a non Telewest area so will have to change my tv setup to a DVB-T freeview one.

Also, I'm using placeshifter a lot as I work away from home and really need some more grunt to the transcoding whilst the family are still using sage to watch TV. This makes me think it's a good time to get a dual core processor.

I'd like some advice from anyone in the UK who knows where I can get a good deal on a dual-core based pc.

Also, I'm thinking of getting a pair of Nova T 500's - does anyone have any experience of these? I'm not even sure if they're PCI or PCI-express. I guess if the new PC has an up to date motherboard I should probably use the Terratec dual tuners instead ...

Any thoughts / ideas welcome.

I just setup a system for a frind usding a Nova-T 500. Release 6.0.14 did not work lots of no signal messges.

i went back to 6.0.13 and the card was working fine. I believe that the latest beta release has fixed the problems I had in 6.0.14.

The cards use PCI slots

RickGillyon and I both use 2 x Cinery 2400i tuners (4 tuners total) without problem.

Good news, thanks for the info. Looks like the cinergy ones are the safest bet at the mo.

I have three now... :)
Useful thing about the Terratecs, they leave your PCI slots free for other things, nothing much else uses the PCIX yet. Their support is painfully slow if you need it though. :bang:
