What custom recording settings work good for you?

I was wondering if anyone has made any custom recording bitrates and has had good success with them.

Here's one that I made up (just to start the ball rolling):

mmc/python2_encoding/Better2=videobitrate\=4000000|vbr\=0|width\=480|height\=480|audiobitrate\=192|outputstreamtype\=0|audiosampling\=48000|closedgop\=1|audiocrc\=1

seeker/recording_qualities/Good\ -\ 480\ x\ 480\ -\ 4\ Mbps=Better2,224,32000,5000000


Any configurations that are giving you great results with your system? Mine's an Athlon 1.4GHz that seems to drop frames at 720x480 especially with the Creative's original software. Let me know what you think.

It would be great if a 3rd party could come up with a program to make these settings. If there are no takers, maybe I'll try to write one..... I'll have to get out that old copy of Delphi and dust it off....

I'm sure I'll have that integrated before long....a lot of people have interest in changing these settings. I've also added the prefiltering settings for the Hauppauge card for Beta 1.2.5 (out sometime next week) for those interested. :dance:

Here's a new adjustment for the encoding I've been using:

mmc/python2_encoding/Better2=videobitrate\=4000000|vbr\=0|width\=480|height\=480|audiobitrate\=160|outputstreamtype\=10|audiosampling\=48000|closedgop\=1|audiocrc\=0|gopsize\=6

seeker/recording_qualities/Good\ -\ 480\ x\ 480\ -\ 4\ Mbps=Better2,160,48000,3500000

You might need to go into the Detailed Setup after doing this, select another setting from the menu, and then select the 480x480 one defined above.
