I am using NVDVD to capture video from my sagetv recorder, the problem is, is that when I press the preview button, I get the error "There is an error with the MPEG2 video setup. Failed connecting video stream to the overlay mixer. ErrCode=0x80040217"

I am able to record from the NVDVD mpeg2 decoder, but I get no preview screen which is annoying.

I am able to use other mpeg2 decoders and i am able to preview and capture just fine, but I perfer the NVDVD decoder.

I'm using the Hauppage Wintv-PVR 250 card.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Are you using the PVR-250 to capture in SageRecorder and is this the specified capture card in setup? If so, try using a different video decoder to see if that's causing the error. Once you make either of these changes, you must restart the video preview windwo for the settings to take effect.

Thanks for the reply, dkardatzke.

I am using the Hauppage WinTV-PVR 250 and the Intervideo and hauppage video decoders work fine for the Sagetv Recorder, but the NVDVD just won't give me the preview window, just an error and the sound coming through the speakers.

I can capture video with the NVDVD though, but I get an error when trying to get the preview window.

I have restarted the program and un-installed and re-installed the SageTV and the NVDVD program.

I just like to use the NVDVD decoder since I have an nvidia geforce card and seem to get the best picture with the decoder.

This is a great program I just bought and overall works great!

thanks for the help!
