For the other programs menu you need to be running the SageMC STV.

Here are the best instructions for using the other programs menu...

http://www.sage-community.org/index.cgi/wiki/SageMC169OtherPrograms

Basically, you set up your preferences to point to a folder, then you create shortcuts to the EXE's that you want to launch, and put them in that folder. After you do that and relaunch SageTV when you go to the Other Programs menu you should see entries for each shortcut you put in there.

(Also since you want to close Sage you append _x to the shortcut)

"In the newest version of SageMC you also have the option to add suffixes to the end of your shortcut/jpg to force actions such as minimizing or closing Sage."

can you restart Sage with an option? or refocus Sage that minimized?

Nope, once you leave Sage the program you launch (or the batch file you use to launch the program) has to handle relaunching/maximizing sage again.

I personally use the batch file meathod and have my files formated like this...

"C:\path\to\program\someProgram.exe"
"C:\path\to\sage\SageTV.exe" -awake

This way, the batch file will launch the first program, wait for it to quit, then launch Sage again.

Hi,

Sorry to drag up an old one, but I am hoping for some help with this subject.

If I use a batch file, rather than a shortcut, to put sage to sleep in the system tray and launch some other program would the code above need to start with putting sage to sleep? Could I trouble you for the actual code to do this? Could the code above be saved in the notepad as a .bat file and used just like that?

Thanks for any help.
