I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I believe it would be great if there was a SageTV client or placeshifter for the Ipod touch and/or the Iphone.

Using the Ipod touch as a small screen TV around the house would be a great idea in my opinion

Has this been discussed before? Any plans for this in the pipes? Since SageTV is supporting the Mac anyways ....

Actually, I have no idea, but I believe that the Ipod touch runs some sort of a scaled down Mac OS X operating system, so perhaps it should be able to run Java? I have no idea .... but the idea of a SageTV client in my Ipod touch is simply brilliant :goodjob:

It doesn't run Java, but Sun recently announced they'll be porting it using the new SDK released by Apple.

LiveTV streaming to the iphone is a MUST! It's not like it's something that is going anywhere anytime soon.

The iphone/itouch supports http.... so maybe you can watch streaming video using neilm's webserver plugin for sage... I haven't used the webserver, so I don't know it supports watching video or not. This may be a temporary option until Sage produces something specific.

Looks like iPhone intergation is coming for sling:

It would be killer for SageTV - lets hope it is in the works...!

FYI, there is also some work being done on a more mobile device-friendly application. I haven't tried it, but others have and it appears to be functional, though clearly an "alpha" product at this point.

I've been testing this new mobile web interface and while it's a very "alpha" version it looks and works great on my blackberry curve. The first version (current one) is mainly to make a mobile-friendly, easy to view, navigate and use SageTV web interface for your phone or other mobile device. Jason's done a great job on this thing!

Hopefully, the next iterations will include new features and ultimately streaming to the phone. Check it out if your interested in helping test out and providing suggestions.

I don't know anything about how to get this to work, but I thought one of the niggles with getting Sage on the iPhone had to do with the iPhone not having Java. Well, if you have a jailbroken iPhone, this is not the case any more. I guess the guys on this forum who know how Sage and Java work would be able to determine if this helps, but below is a link to info on Java for iPhone. Maybe with this info we can finally have Sage on the iPhone. I'll hope for the best.
