I'm having 2 problems w/ 1.2.7 RC1 that I wonder if anyone else is experiencing. Setup is a PVR/350 on a brand new P4 server built for PVR'ing.

First, when I leave Sage in full-screen TV mode, I invariably wake up in the AM and turn on the TV to find it has crashed. No Sage message, just the ol "Send report to Microsoft?" dialog. I notice a file, hs_err_pidxxxxx is dumped to the sage dir and I've attached it.

Second, very often when playing back recorded content, Sage 'hiccups'. It's not a audio/video sync problem - it actually makes a little squeak sound about every 5 seconds and jerks slightly. After about 5 minutes of this, sage will crash.

I was using the Hauppauge decoder but recently have switched to elecard to see if it corrected either issue (it didn't)

Upgrade to the latest Hauppauge drivers. It'll solve your problem (this is a common problem with the older drivers).

Thanks.

Make sure you upgrade following SHS's instructions for upgrading to the latest drivers on his site - www.shspvr.com, otherwise you may not get all of the old stuff out of your system.

Edit: Fixed link.

The site was down when I just went to check. I'll have to check later.

I was also having a problem, but not the one mentioned above. My system crashed just when the show started. It was most likely a background process, but it forced me to reset.

What happened was that the MPEG file that SageTV wrote had a file length of 0. When I went back to watch the show that corresponded to this file, Sage wouldn't show any video, but it kept recording (the bar at the bottom kept getting longer with a green bar).

When I deleted the 0 length file, restarted Sage and went back to that channel, it played the channel fine.

P.S. I love those cat pictures... Very cute. :)

Updated drivers; ran all night w/ no problems. System was up OK this AM.

Looks like shows recorded prior to my upgrade still have problems, but everything since then seems OK
