I really want to be able to stop a recording without deleting it.

Let me explain. I often record events that don't have a hard end time so I manually add a cushion at the end of the recording. That is no big deal. Often However, I am watching these events live and when the actual event is over I would like to just be able to end the recording. (to avoid possible hours of needless recording.)

I know I have already watched the program but usually I have to keep it for other members of the house to see before it is deleted. I know that I could drill through the menus to adjust the stop time to the approximate time that it is but this is very cumbersome IMO.

Being a long time BTV user I do miss how with that program when you stopped a recording it kept the file for you automatically.

After searching the forums this has been a hot topic in the past but I was unable to find a clear solution.

Can't you hit the record button when watching - and then it would keep the recording even after you hit stop?

If you don't want to adjust the recording's stop time, then check out the multi-function stop import in the List of available customizations.

Yes. I use it. There is also a newer one that will use whatever buttons that are used on your theme instead of the old hard coded buttons. Same function-just looks nicer.
