View Full Version : Tuning difficulties

Hi. I'm currently experimenting with the latest versions of the third party HTPCs after reformatting a Vista Ultimate install. I've installed the latest SageTV (6.4) and I cannot get the TV tuner working. The card in question is a Fusion Lite, which is listed as compatible on the SageTV website. During setup it finds the card without issue, but when the Video Preview window appears, nothing happens. It then tries to scan for the five (!) channels I think I should receive, but finds nothing. I've made sure that no other TV services are running when Sage is - but I cannot get it working - which is a shame because otherwise it looks bloody excellent.
Any help sorting this before my trial period runs out would be greatly appreciated. :)

Are you trying to tune OTA or Cable on your Fusion Lite card? I have a Fusion Lite 5 card pulling OTA in Sage and have had no troubles.

Just plain vanilla DVB-T broadcasts. :)
This seems to be a tricky one. So Sage finds your card ok, but scanning finds no channels ?
Do other HTPC programs find channels ok ?
Install MediaPortal for a quick check, to make sure it is not your card or antennae at fault.
Try removing the tuner cards from within Sage, and re-add.
FYI:
I have 2x DNTV Live! PCI-E dual tuners, and they work a treat. Based in Melbourne.

Card works perfectly with GVPVR, MediaPortal, Power Cinema and Vista MCE. No issues at all.
Tried removing the device in Sage, tried completely reinstalling Sage (complete with directory removal). Still no go.
Can't help thinking I'm making some fundamental mistake. :)

Do you have the correct region selected? For some reason Sage doesn't just scan everything, just the frequencies that it thinks are available in your area. See this thread (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27262) for details.
