What do you mean by "FAT sat"? FTA actually stands for free-to-air, which is used to describe those satellite-based TV channels that are offered for free and for free intentionally, i.e. you are not hacking anything to get them.
In NA, there are quite a few FTA channels out there (100+). They are spread out over 15 or so different satellites, so you need a motorized dish of a least 90cm to get them. However, none of them are HD - somewhat poor quaility for the most part. "www.lyngsat.com" will show you specifically what's available.
I have such a setup myself, but find I watch these channels very little as I'm always on the ExpressVu channels - can't beat HD.

Actually there are quite a few FTA HD channels on C-band. I have several programmed into Sage by way of the MyTheatre network encoder. Of course my dish is a beautiful 10-foot Unimesh that tracks the arc from the 55 degree slot to 137. :D
