After using it for a couple of days, here's what I'd like to see...
1) Non-invasive playback menu option
If I'm doing other stuff and accidently move the mouse over the playback window, I get the menu. I'd like to be able to temporarity disable the menu, or give an option for a drop-down or floating control menu
2) "Always On Top" option
Would allow watching while working
3) No title bar on TV window option
Would be cleaner, IMHO
4) "Right Click" options available in the TV window, such as direct channel access.
Similar to the WinTV2k software
5) Option to run as a native service w/o having to have SAGE.EXE running or an icon in the system tray
This would allow running in the background and recording even when no one is logged in. I log out of my machine every night to facilitate backups
6) Use of hardware MPEG-2 decoders
This might be a nice touch to lower CPU usage.
7) Option to configure "skip forwarc/backward"
I'd love to be able to configure skip forward for a 30 second skip instead of 10 seconds. Maybe even allow user-configurable hotkeys for 60/120/180 second skips.

#1 - I'd love to have the menu also like the display menu that's already there. This way, you can change items without having to grab the mouse.
#6 - It already supports the XCard from SigmaDesigns.
#7 - You can already change the skip forward in the Sage.Properties file. I think it's called FF_TIME or something like that. Searching for "REW" should make it show up.

Another thing I'd love to see is the ability to watch "dumb" TV without having to decode the MPEG2 file. I run some rather intensive apps and would like to be able to watch TV without SAGE writing/playing back from an MPEG file...just stream the TV direct from the card to the screen with no advanced features.

You can change the value of the skip fwd or skip backward to anything you want.
Modify the properties file of Sage(TV/Recorder) to change how much time it goes for skip forward and skip back. Make sure you exit the applications before making the changes. Go to lines:
videoframe/ff_time
and
videoframe/rew_time
They're in milliseconds, ff time must be positive and rew time must be negative. i.e. to have 30 second skip forward and 10 second skip back you'd do:
videoframe/ff_time=30000
videoframe/rew_time=-10000

This should only happen if you click the mouse ont he playback window
2) "Always On Top" option
Right-click the title bar
5) Option to run as a native service w/o having to have SAGE.EXE running or an icon in the system trayStart->programs->frey->SageTv Service Control
6) Use of hardware MPEG-2 decodersPVR-350 and XCARD supported (the latter in a very early stage of development)
Hardware accellerated MPEG2 decoding in gfx cards available though the options in your MPEG2 decoder.
