Like many posters here I am doing some homework prior to pulling the trigger and have a few questions: (In standalone mode)

from a previous post here there was mention that when playing say music or a home video collection that they will not play one after the other automatically ,is that true? In my case I have my home videos pulled off of my video camera as AVI's and they are pulled of in sections with time and date stamps as their titles and then placed in seperate folders for that tape with the date of the first section as the folder file name. I would like to just select a time and date or a folder and have all the files after that play one after the other automatically until I say stop.

Another example would of course be MP3's does the unit support playlists in standalone mode? or if I pick a song from the list will the unit just keep on playing (like other players) either sequentially or randomly?

Thanks for any answers.

You can set up playlists for videos, or select a folder & choose to play all the videos in that folder.

Muisc also plays in playlists or a dynamic "Now Playing" playlist & you can choose to add songs individually, by album, by artist, genre, etc. You can also choose to play all the music randomly or in-order.

Does the HD200 (in standalone) support any kind of external playlist files?
I've tried video .m3u files, and it doesnt seem to recognize them at all.
Is there some other format I can throw on there (both for video and music)?
I hate the sage interface for creating playlists :/

thanks
