I've noticed that in some SAGE recordings, the audio substantially drifts. Womble reports numerous (60000 in a 2.6gb file) Audio PTS errors. Is this something you could look into?
It just occured to me that this seems to happen more often when you take an MPEG of a show you were watching live and work with it, not a "scheduled" recording.

Nope....it's out of sync when Womble plays it, and it's out of Sync when I play the VOB files in PowerDVD. It's in sync when Sage plays it back, though....
what drv package are you using?, oh are PAL or NTSC?.

I'm using Womble MPEG-2 to edit, and DVDLab to author. I have no problems with ReplayTV files. I run the GOP fixer and the edit/author works great. I got this setup hoping I could encode to a "standard" MPEG-2 format without having to go through the transferring from my Replay to the PC.
DVDLab not yet released use Ulead DVD MovieFactory.

If I use mpeg2vcr 3.13, I get tons of errors (thousands). However, when I use 3.14, I get no errors (on the same exact file). I think that mpeg2vcr might be misreporting errors in 3.13. The audio issues (the drifting) might be a separate issue.

I've used Ulead and hate it. DVDLab is the easiest and most flexible (by far) authoring program I've seen. I love the fact that it doesn't insist of re-encoding the file. It's dropped my authoring times a substantial amount.
The issue isn't the authoring. The audio drifts show up in the raw MPEG file before it's even fed into an authoring program.
When I ran the Womble GOP fixer, the audio almost came back into sync. It was still off, but not by much.
