Found a Mac OSX program that works for changing channels via firewire on my SA4250HD cablebox:

Usage is very simple: "AVCTuner -c 750" changes the channel to 750.
Can SageTV Mac use a program such as this for channel changing? I am hoping it is as simple as putting something in the tuning_plugin= section under mmc in sage.properties.
