I record MPEG-TS from Firewire from a Motorola STB. Generally the file quality is pretty good. HD looks like HD :) and the files play back just fine on Sage on the sage server/client... but...
When watching the same file via the HD200, there is often, but not always, an audio lag of less than a second. It appears to sometimes correct itself, and sometimes is non-existent or not noticable. At it's worse, it's maybe 300-400 milliseconds. Just enough to drive me crazy. And it's definately the audio behind the video.
I'm not sure where to begin. Since the files don't show the problem if watched locally, i don't think its a recording problem. Could it be caused by lack of bandwidth on the network (basicaly gigabit, but the HD200 shares a 100 MBit hub with the game console, only one is ever used at a time), so it should be well above what's needed for even an HD stream).
I have not yet noticed this issue with SD.
Could this be because is TS not PS? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
