I got the SageTV HD Theater about a week ago. As soon as I got it hooked up I did a firmware update. About 3-4 days ago it started having problems playing a few recordings. Those recordings would play just fine on a computer with the client software so the recording itself should be fine. When the recordings would lock up the HD theater, I would have to turn off the power with the remote and then turn it back on to get control of the unit back. At times the unit now won't come back on by using the power button on the remote and I have to pull the power plug and reconnected it.
Why do some of my recordings not play on the HD Theater but will on a client pc? It has gotten to where the number of unplayable recordings is increasing. Do I have a bad HD Theater?

When you say you updated the firmware, do you mean that you updated to a beta version of the firmware? If not, have you tried that? And, do you mean you are using it as an extender or on its own? If as an extender, what version of SageTV is installed on the PC?

I did the firmware upgrade like the instructions said. Settings > System update. It says it is running 6.4.5.1. Hopefully that isn't a beta version. I'm trying to get a stable system not test out code.
I'm using it as an extender. The sage server is version 6.5.9.204

I suggest updating to the beta firmware & software. There have been a lot of changes/fixes and your problems may already have been taken care of. You should at least have firmware & software installed with similar version numbers.
If you still have problems, report it to SageTV since the beta period is the best time to gets things fixed & tested before a release version is put out.
And, post what tuner(s) you are using. There isn't much info in the first post to use as a basis for any other suggestions.
