Hey Folks,

I picked up 2 PVR 250's in the last week. One card appears to be the original version that uses a single S-Video input connector with a S-Video to Composite adapter. The second card has both a S-Video and a Composite connector on the rear panel.

They both appear to have the same chipset; itVc15.

If I pick up another card, is there any reason to prefer one version over the other? I'm not concerned about the connectors, my concern is over video quality and known bugs.

The two tuners appear to provide the same quailty display but I don't have time to test them side by side.

Thanks,

Steve

I have 2 PVR-250s myself. One is the original itVc15, as you have. The 2nd is a slightly smaler card which contains the itVc16. The only problem I had was that the two cards confused the Driver Installation process somewhat. Once I had a clean install of the newer card's drivers (updated following SHS's directions to get the latest versions of everything), all was well.

I should report that, with an amplified CableTV feed to both, I can see very little difference between the two cards. I'm recording at Good (1.5GB/s) and really don't have to worry about which card does the recording - they're both excellent!
