Some users have found the new semi-transparent panel backgrounds hard on the eyes (see this thread (http://forums.freytechnologies.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48583)), so I've whipped up a quick theme to fix that. The Opaque Panel Theme is exactly like the Standard theme, except the panel backgrounds are opaque.
To use it, locate it under the Themes category in the V7 plugin manager, install it, then go into Detailed Setup > Advanced > Select the User Interface Theme to enable it.

Thanks for this theme
What's even better is how super simple it was to install:thumb:

....opacify....
that's an interesting word, would have taken me ages to think of that, lol

So I guess this implies that there's no setting to adjust the opacity? I like some transparency on serenity but I agree that it's a little difficult to read sometimes. Oh well.

Hmmm, after updating to beta 16, the opaque menus seem to work everywhere except the one area that I use them for, the Guide menu.
Any suggestions for a fix?

I'm not seeing this. I did find an issue with Main Menu opacity (for which I will upload a fix shortly), but the Program Guide is opaque on my 7.0.16 setup.
Do you have any other UI mods installed that might be affecting this?

Do you guys have the hidden extras enabled? Exactly which Guide view are you using? As I said, I'm not seeing it, so I'm going to need more info to track it down.

Mine is a vanilla installation. The only thing that I have enabled is debug logging.

...just back from the annual brat and burger family fest. Nothing like grilled brats smothered in onions on Labor Day. Be thankful you're not standing next to me.
The problem is on the "Program Guide" off of the main TV menu.
I do have several plugins installed, including Bialio's My TV for V7 and EPG Back-On-Guide, Commercial Detector, Always Show SubMenus and InfoPopup STVi.
No hidden extras...
One odd thing about my upgrade to v16 was that Sage would not start after the upgrade (generated a Java NullPointerExecption error). I had to use the Sage.jar file posted in the sticky on the SageTV Beta Test Software subforum.

Could you try disabling those to see if that makes a difference?

OK, I uninstalled my plugins and uninstalled the Opaque Panel Theme. Then went into Detailed settings and changed the theme back to the Standard.
Installed the Opaque Panel Theme and enabled it in the settings.
The problem was still there, the menu guide was still way too transparent.
I ended up making a copy of the TVbackground.jpg and editing it to be much darker. Then I placed the copy in the "Standard with Opaque Panels" theme folder.
This works well enough for my purposes.
