As I was cleaning up some old recordings tonight, I accidentally deleted the ComSkip file for a recording. Normally I would just run ComSkip manually, however I don't seem to have that option anywhere. Am I missing it?

You could setup a shortcut for comskip.exe in "c:\documents and settings\administrator\sendto". Replace "administrator" with a different username if your username is different.

Then open Windows Explorer, navigate to the video file, right click on the file, select "Send To", then Comskip.

Sorry, that's completely unacceptable. My HTPC is a dedicated machine with no keyboard hooked up to it and runs Sage 24/7.

This option was there previously in the menu, but not in V7. I should be able to do this right from my remote.

If you are using JREKiwi's comskip playback...

then when you look at the recording details of a show, there should be a button there called 'run comskip'.

by default this button runs a file called comskip.cmd (I'm not to sure which folder its in if you use Sage v6).

As of Sage ver 7, this plugin allows you to enable/disable the appearance of the button, and also to change the batch file it calls - under setup - detailed setup - customize - Comskip Playback Options.

You can edit the comskip.cmd file to run your normal comskip batch file, or change the button to run your comskip batch file direct.

Really? How do you ever do maintenance on the SageTV computer? You could install VNC on the SageTV computer and remote control it from another computer in your house. I have my SageTV computer located in the basement and I usually use VNC when some maintenance needs to be done on the computer. Sometimes I do the maintenance in front of the computer.

If you use Dirmon2 or SJQ to automatically Comskip process the files, then it should be reprocessed when you delete the extra Comskip generated files associated with the video file.

I do use VNC if I need to remote in, but my point is simply that I shouldn't have to do this from outside the SageTV interface.

I use ShowAnalyzer and Dirmon2. When I checked again this morning, the file had been reprocessed so I guess my whole thread is now moot.

Thanks however!
