After I imported my entire music collection, consisting of about a thousand MP3 files, I noticed that certain operations in SageTV 1.3.3 beta were taking much longer:
- Entering and exiting the guide took about 5 seconds
- Priming the seeker after the next restart took a couple of minutes
Also, my SageTV clients complained about a negative array length while they build their wiz.bin files.
I decided to remove the MP3 files from my library. I noticed there was no way to quickly do that, so I positioned my mouse in such a way that I could rapidly delete the files, one at a time. I deleted about a third of my files, when I realized that I was actually _DELETING_ the files from my network share, not just from the library!!!!
So, here are my recommendations for this feature:
- On the delete confirmation dialog, provide an option to delete from the library only, vs. deleting from storage.
- Provide a way to make the choice sticky, but indicate which choice had been selected
- Provide a means of multiple selection
