Love sage. Does a great job with live TV. But the online section and the music section don't seem to be quite ready for prime time...
Maybe someone here might know how to do the following....
Add and remove links from the online section. Many of these are out of date, not longer available, or simply not working. Would be nice if there was a way of editing them from inside of the interface. That way people wouldn't be asking me why a video link wasn't working from 2004....
The music organizational structure is a true mystery, by artist seems to pull up the tunes according to who wrote them, not by who performs them. By folder seems to give me folders with one song in them...by album gives me albums with one song in them...and all my metadata has been downloaded and updated by media monkey.
Can I somehow display my own directory structure (Artist\Album\Track) with the album art?
Boxee appears to do all of this adequately, but it can't handle live tv, or even play 1080i video correctly...getting sage to do music and online video correctly would save me from going back and forth between the two...
Or alternately, is there a way of creating menu item in SageTV to launch boxee, and hide the online, music, movies etc..Suspend SageTV, launch Boxee, and have SageTV come back automatically when Boxee closes?
Thanks:D

I agree, the music interface for Sage is pretty bad. As far as launching Boxee and bringing back Sage you can do this using the old STV and dynamic menus. Unfortunately there is no dynamic menu for V7 yet. You could also use studio to do it but that would not be a 1 click solution ;)

There's an option to control that -- I actually have the opposite problem, I can get SageTV to display my artists/album properly but not Boxee ;-)
For customizing the artists view, see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46393384@N06/4737059225/sizes/l/
If you peruse through my SageTV MB Diamond Theme set:

you'll see that my music stuff looks pretty good. I've done all my tagging via iTunes or Mp3Tag.
If SageTV just had some milkdrop visualizations, I'd be set ;)

Thanks, mbdiamond didn't look anything like that when I last tried it. If it had, I'd probably still be using it.
I notice your 'by artist' is still showing by composer or writer instead of the performer or band....any way to change that?
Maybe I'll give that interface another look....
Thanks for trying....

There's an option for that, see my post above yours. You can choose one or more of: Composter, Artist, or Album Artist. Use the Options menu when viewing Music by Artists then: Menu Options then Choose people to include as Artists.

Thanks for sharing!
We have quite a big collection of music stored on another PC. I would love to point Sage at it, but I seem to remember reading before where it choked on huge collections. Can you comment if this is still an issue or if you had heard of this as well?
Anyone know a size limitation?
Thanks,
Fuzzy

The HD200's will choke in standalone on a large collection. SageTV software, however, has no such limitations. (it will take quite some time to scan them in).

Hey, looking at your mbdiamond theme you've replaced the little man in the main menu with a cool backdrop behind the menus. How do I do this? Can I place any picture I want there, or is it part of a different theme or an option within the interface?
Thanks

All the background pictures (for every menu, in any theme) are just .jpgs in a folder. Just replace them with your own (properly-sized) jpgs.
I'd tell you the folder location but I'm at work right now - it's somewhere under STVs/themes, I believe. It's easy to find.

The location would be something like:
C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV7\Themes\MBDiamond
Then go and replace "background.jpg" -- that should do it for everything in MBDiamond theme. I think other themes require that you change out each individual background (TV, Video, Music, etc).

Thanks, I'll give that a try...
