This is a continuation of a previous question asking about additional H.264 video decoders. As of the v7.0.21.0, file set 2010102001, STV Update, there are now Detailed Setup -> Video/Audio options for VC1 Video Decoder Filter and HD Audio Decoder Filter. We would like to know what additional decoders are being used for any of these 3 settings.

H.264 Video Decoder Filters

So far, these decoder options are known:

ArcSoft Video Decoder
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7)
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (HD264)
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder(ATI)
CoreAVC Video Decoder
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7.x)
CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PCM45)
DivX H.264 Decoder
ffdshow Video Decoder
Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder

Additional H.264 Video Decoder names submitted to SageTV:

MPC - Video decoder

VC-1 Video Decoder Filters

So far, these decoder options are known:

ArcSoft Video Decoder
ffdshow Video Decoder
WMVideo Decoder DMO

Additional VC-1 Video Decoder names submitted to SageTV:

MPC - Video decoder
CyberLink VC-1 Decoder (PDVD8)

HD Audio Decoder Filters

So far, these decoder options are known:

ffdshow Video Decoder

Additional HD Audio Decoder names submitted to SageTV:

None yet

If anyone is using a different setting for any of the above decoder filters, please post the exact property value you are using here.

H.264 Video Decoder property: videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter
VC1 Video Decoder property: videoframe/vc1_video_decoder_filter
HD Audio Decoder property uses two properties: videoframe/dolbytruehd_audio_decoder_filter and dts-ma_audio_decoder_filter

Thanks.

I played around with the "MPC - Video Decoder" from MPC-HC. While the results seem better on my client compared to the other ones (ffdshow crashes the client and Windows one only updates the frame when there are UI changes), it still jitters back and forth between frames. May be with some more tweaking/improvements this filter can work as well.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I use this filter for VC1.

Thanks -- I've added "MPC - Video Decoder" to the list; I hope that's the exact name of it. :)

I have the same issue. It seems that the way the sage splitter works with the mpc decoder causes it to stutter, because it works fine using the mpc splitter. And it is "MPC - Video decoder" in the dshow manager. as well as sagetv.
