Just wondering if Studio can be used to customize SageTV to take advantage of 16:9 widescreen TVs. I would like to create something like this as my main page:

Is anyone working on a 16:9 widescreen skin?
What will 4:3 skins do on a widescreen? Will they stretch horizontally?
How does Sage handle full screen mode on a 16:9 display when viewing a 4:3 source? Will there be black bars on the sides?

Yeah, the current interface will stretch to fit a widescreen monitor (I've done it).
As for how Sage handles content, the short answer is it can do whatever you want. The long answer is: there are currently 4 AR modes:
Fill - self explanatory
4x3 - will "stretch" any video to 4x3 AR
16x9 - same as above but 16x9
Source - Basically auto 4x3/16x9 based on content
On a Widescreen display, Source will display 16x9 content full screen and 4x3 content pillarboxed. One interesting tweak, since 16x9 and Fill are redundant on a Widescreen display, I set 16x9 to about 133% vertical zoom so that when I'm watching letterboxed content I can set the AR to 16x9 and Sage will effectively cut off the bars leaving full screen 16x9 picture.

stanger89, thanks for the info. Looks like they thought of everything.
I would love to have a skin with its button layout optimized for a widescreen display.
