I was manually trying to search for a few recordings (Movies/ music concerts) that were not in the tvdb. I found them in the imdb so I saved the results... What I ended up with in sage shows as a series with a blank name in grouped lists. On the detail page it shows as <Unknown airing> for the series with the movie name as the episode.

I have tried to search for these in the BMT web interface to correct them, but can't seem to find them.

Any thoughts?

In the bmt web ui, you should be able to click on recordings, recorded movies, or archived recordings, and the items should be in one of those locations.

Had to set them to archived in sage, then I was able to find them in BMT to correct. Thanks for the help.

I seem to be getting this "unknown airing" listed in the title on my last few movie imports.

And I can't find the darn things in BMT to correct the title there. Here's what it looks like in SageTV itself and below on the webadmin:

What bothers me more is that the <No Title> seems to be causing issues with my apps/plugins... ;)

I haven't noticed any recent imports with <Unknown Airing> as the title (but I rarely use the normal web ui). I did check now, and I do have a some very old imports that show up this way. It appears that if the file doesn't have a value in the "Title" field, then it shows up with <Unknown Airing>.

@Brent - You should still be able to find these in bmt using a couple of options.
1. Use a view such as DVDs, BluRays, or even the Sage Video Imports by Folder.
2. Use PQL and search by EpisodeName. ie, in the BMT search box use

EpisodeName = 'True Grit'

or

EpisodeName contains 'Grit'

or

Title is null

the last one will simply return all files that don't have a title set.

Once you find the file, you can fix it, by using the "Edit Raw Metadata" button and then copying the value from EpisodeName to the Title field.

I can't explain why the Title field is blank, since BMT does set it, and BMT never blanks out a field (ie if BMT's title was empty it would never overwrite the Title field in sagetv with an empty value).

In some future release I'll include support for "fixing" the various title fields as a batch operation.

I had a bunch of these show up after I upgraded to 7.1.9RC. I was behind as I was still working on Diamond in 7.1.8 and didn't want to update till I was ready.

The ones for me that show are old recorded movies that I renamed and then moved to storage drive. Mine are a little different as some are missing the title and episode names.

I guess I don't have to worry about it happening with a future Sagetv upgrade any more ;)

I have used jrekiwi's CMT to edit and fix but there seems to be a lot more this go around :(

See attached.

I am having this problem too after upgrading to 7.1.9 a few days ago. If I edit metadata on an "Unknown" video, it shows the Title field populated but the "Imported Video Path" is blank. If I manually type something into the "Imported Video Path" field, then "Unknown" no longer displays and what I typed in that field now displays. But this is happening for hundreds of videos for me now. I don't want to do this manually for everything. Any way to fix this automatically?

Could this possibly be related to an earlier problem I was having with relative paths being displayed in the title? A few weeks ago, before upgrading to 7.1.9, I was having that problem and used BMT to remove relative paths. That seemed to help at the time, but I wonder if its somehow related to the problem I'm having now.

Interestingly, I'm also seeing "Unknown" on some recently imported netflix videos.

I've got over a hundred videos with a null title. It puts the title in the episode name and leaves the title section blank. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to manually copy the episode name into the title block since it would take a long time. Is there anything else I can do? I can't even find my shows to watch cause they are all called unknown. Is there a way to delete all the metadata files and I can start over and read only the filenames in Diamond?
