PlayOn Integration

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask if there was any way to integrate all of the PlayOn features into Diamond?

What I mean is instead of going to the online menu and then having all the submenus for hulu, netflix and everything else. Would there be a way to browse through with something similar to the old netflix plugin (which is how boxee does it). What that would look like would be you could choose a genre and then browse through all the movies. If you wanted you could choose a sub-genre and browse, instead of the way it is now which is having to choose the genre, then sub-genre, then the section of the alphabet you are looking in. That is just too many menus to have to go through. That and a search option would be awesome. Incorporating fan-art and meta-data would be icing on the cake, but I hope you guys get what I'm trying to say. I love being able to use all of this stuff, but I think with the direction you guys are taking this project you would be able to do what I'm asking. We can already view the content, it would be nice if it were more simple (for lack of a better word).

If the above could be accomplished and PlayOn would have HD capability I think people would forget that SageTV doesn't have "official" netflix and hulu support.

Playon already fully integrates into tv and movies and you can setup filters to just so playon. Don't see us taking it much further than that. Plus allot of theose features you mention aren't available through playon.

Makes sense then. That's why I asked. I know about the current integration, I was just wondering about the browsing aspect outside of what is in your queue.

I don't think playon allows that we couldn't probably do. It with the open Netflix API (for browsing only) but not likely something I want to tackle.

I wouldn't want to mess with that either. I figured there might be a way of doing it with just playon, and if there was you and EP would be they guys to do it. Thanks anyway.
