View Full Version : Colors off for some BG Fanart (is this a dup?)

On some BG Fanart, the image isn't loaded correctly. I've seen two different examples of this:
- The image is complete, but the colors are off or shifted. It may be that they're inverted or something. I can't quite tell. The actual image on disk has correct colors.

- The image doesn't load completely. 1/4 to 1/3 of the image loads, then a few solid color blocks like bright green, ending in a partially complete line, then nothing or a solid color. Again, the on-disk image is fine.

I'm 99% sure I've seen this thread before, but several different searches didn't turn up anything. I'm hoping there's a workaround. If someone can point at the actual thread, this one can go away.

Are you sure the images on disk are correct i would bet 100% they aren't if you look in the diamond cache folder. IT is more than likely an issue with a corrupted image that didn't scale properly. Delete the cache from the detailed settings and try again.

Plucky -
I noticed this problem with the new criminal minds: Suspect behavior shows. I even loaded up the fanart in paint and other programs to see if it was the image but when ever it shows up on diamond 3.10 the image is shifted like kbyrd says.

I even tried deleting that part of the fanart in hopes of fixing that problem but it keeps showing up for me as an image that is mostly purple when displayed.

Ok, I swear I checked this before with "Harry's Law". But now the copy in my central Fanart folder is "purple-y". It's been resized, so this is starting to feel like a BMT problem now.

In another case "Breakout Kings" (color is fine, but only part of the image shows) I just checked both the Phoenix central fanart folder and the diamond cache (after clearing the diamond cache for this item and revisiting) and I still get the color ok, only bands of the image are showing.

UPDATE: Nevermind. Clearing the entire Diamond cache fixed this.

So it seems in my case, there's a problem with BMT's storing of the image, it's resized and off color from the original. I'll go sniff around that forum.

I get the same "purple-y" look on Criminal Minds - Suspect Behavior as well - Also the "purple-y" look affects all the fanart usually and not just the thumbnails.

That means that when I turn on BG Fanart and go to that show it shows up as a big purple screen for me.

It's not strictly a BMT issue, it's anything that uses the Java ImageIO libraries. I suspect this happened to me when I had resizing turned on in BMT. Those options are gone now, I just need to make sure that nothing is still resizing.

FYI this issue is fixed in the next build of diamond as we now are able to use sagetv method of scaling which doesn't have this problem.
