Which is it, Toslink or Spdif?

So Sagetv has it labeled as SPDIF for the digital audio out for the Colosuss, but when I look up Colosuss it says its Toslink.

Is Toslink and Spdif interchangeable? If not then why does Sagetvs menu have it labeled as SPDIF when it's Toslink?

SPDIF refers to a digital transmission standard. The signal can be transmitted via a Toslink (fiberoptic) cable, or a RCA cable. So technically they both are SPDIF.
