View Full Version : Odd fanart problems

My fanart is working in MyMovies, but not in any of the Diamond views. It has the movies, just not art (no covers, etc.) I was trying to decide if I wanted to migrate from MyMovies to just using Diamond (looks great by the way). I've noticed two odd things and not sure if one of them could be causing it.
- I'm not sure if I'm understanding the Phoenix Fanart Options correctly. I've got it set to on and have the directory set correctly. Does 'Use Folder Posters First' mean rather than fetch them online on the fly? I turn on Posters First and Backgrounds First, but when I click on set folder image name it just comes up with a dialog that says 'Select How Fanart is Stored' with the option to close. Not sure what that means.
- When I first load sage I get a system message. 'Phoenix Error Error in VFS File:.\STVs\Phoenix\vfs\vfs.xml; Failed to find class instance for factory for sagex.phoenix.vfs.sources.PlaylistSourceFactory'
I've removed and reinstalled Diamond and my BMT plugins a few times with no luck. Any suggestions on what to try?

see the wiki you need to set diamond to use the folder fanart provided by MyMOvies collection manger.

I don't mean to be dense, I did read the Wiki and just reread it (I always bug you folks as a last resort!). Mine is set for userdata/Phoenix/Fanart. Is that wrong?

Here (http://code.google.com/p/sagediamond/wiki/DiamondInformation#Fanart_Options)
•if you use Folder Level Posters or Backgrounds set those options in Detailed Setup - Diamond Fanart
•select the type of fanart you use

Sorry, I probably wasn't explaining right (or I'm still dense and not understanding).
Under Detailed>Diamond Fanart I have 'Phoenix Fanart Enabled' set to on and 'Phoenix Fanart Directory' set to c:\programs files\sagetv\sagetv\userdata\Phoenix\Fanart (with a tv and movie folder inside of that, which is where my art is).
Below under Diamond Fanart Options I set Use Folder Posters (and backgrounds) first to on. But when I click set image name, it just says 'select how fanart is stored'.

You must tell diamond what "format" your fanart is stored as...for example, my posters are stored as: posters.jpg. And my fanart as: fanart.jpg
Once diamond knows the correct name and file extension it will recache....
In other words you must now tke the next step under diamond fanart options to select the correct format. I believe they have a variety of preselected options....just choose the one that matches your files.
Maybe a screen shot would help with what you are seeing?

Thanks for the reply. Here's a screen shot. I think I was making it sound more complicated than what it is (and I'm probably missing something simple).
I get what you are saying, next I need to click on 'Set Folder image name'. (Picture 1) But when I click on that, it pops up a dialog and says 'Select How Fanart is Stored' with nothing available but 'Close' (Picture 2)

Reset the client server and client diamond settings should reset it.

Don't yell at me, I'm a newbie! I'm not sure what you mean about restarting the client server. It's just running on a single computer/single TV. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Diamond plug several times if that makes a difference.

See the troubleshooting section to delete Diamond settings to their defaults.... (http://code.google.com/p/sagediamond/wiki/DiamondInformation#Troubleshooting)

No, no, I didn't mean you were yelling at me. You've been very patient. I was joking, figuring I'm driving everyone nuts with all my questions.
I did try resetting both twice, and it still does the same thing. 'Select How Fanart is Stored'.
Is there anything else I can try?

Is there a way to set or reset it manually by changing a value in a file? Or do you think it would do any good to go in and instead of just uninstalling the plugin manually, removing files afterwards to completely remove it? (Of course I don't know which ones this would be)

You could manually set the property yet but offhand I am not sure of the property name. I will look this evening if someone doesn't answer me in advance ;)

Thanks much! I wonder why it would keep setting to blank even after uninstalling, reinstalling, resetting, etc?

I think I fixed it. I deleted my jars and reinstalled. That also fixed the problem I was having with Playon. I don't really understand the jars. Are you supposed to delete the old ones every so often? Are they just install packages that can be deleted after installation of a plug?
