Hi,
After playing with SageTV for a while, there are a few things I would like to see implemented for my wife to really enjoy this. We have had a Tivo for a couple years, so she is a little spoiled (okay I am too).

1.) In the program guide, when a show that is in the future is selected and the enter button is pressed, nothing happens. It would be nice if it would bring up the Options dialog so you can record it or look at the details.

2.) In the program guide, as you are scrolling through the programs, as a program is highlighted, have part of the display show details about the show. Then as you navigate around you can see the show details of each show without having to Options click to see them.

3.) While watching shows, when the OSD comes up, have an option to be able to see more details about the show being watched instead of having to right click to see details.

4.) I think this may be mentioned somewhere, but be able to show a smaller version of the Live TV Guide on top of the video, like maybe a smaller version that only takes up the bottom half of the screen.

This program is awesome. Keep up the good work.

Hi Kenny,

1 - you could probably do this by remapping the Options command from the "o" key to the "ENTER" key in detailed setup.

2 - You kind of can do this now. Press the INFO key - "i" by default when you are on a guide item. Now, when you scroll around the guide, program information will be displayed for each item you scroll over. Not the same as the tivo certainly, but a start.

3 - isn't this available now through the INFO button as well? I don't remember...

4 - Jeff'll have to address this one.

Me thinks not... While viewing a Program, hitting the 'i' key merely pops up the Progress Bar and the Time/Channel caption. What Kenny is looking for is the text that pops up if 'i' is pressed while in the EPG or one of the lists (e.g. Scheduled Recordings).

Hey Mark,
Thanks for responding.
1.) Wouldn't this mess up the normal Enter button? I'll try it out though.

2.) I didn't know you could do that. I'll have to try that out.

3.) Doesn't the info button just do the same thing as if you right clicked on the TV window and selected Detailed Info? I thought it displays it as a fullscreen window covering up the TV window.

Thanks,
Kenny

1 - you'd have to remap the ENTER key to something else.

3 - it may very well. I've never actually tried it, or don't remember trying it. :)

I think what would really be best is if the enter key ran a default action, where that default action changed depending on the context (ie. what screen you're in, what object is highlighted..)

Yes JJarmoc. That is what I was thinking. For a show that is currently on, Select should goto that channel and start recording/watching it. If the show you select is in the future, then it should popup the options dialog, or maybe select it to record. Beacuse right now it just sits there when you select a show that is in the future.

JJarmoc and fasttech - I agree. That would be a really good new feature.

Sure would be a good feature. I think I'll just have to add it. :)
