I am about to put together my first HTPC and plan on using SageTV. :jump:
In the past I spoke to a friend about PVRs and Satellite TV systems, etc. We discussed the auto-updating of software on the satellite systems (mainly to thwart those that have updated their chips to get free channels, etc.)
It make me think, It would be great to have SageTV check for updates (once a day) via my internet connection (Cable modem - wireless for this system) and download/install any updates.
Of course the common-sense issues come into play. The software would have to look and see that I didn't have any upcoming shows to be recorded in the next (say 15 minutes .. more than enough time to grab/install.)
Anyway, thought it would be a cool option, easy? I know I know... :)
Also, my system has two 250's so again, all sheduling will have to be checked to find an "open" time to auto-update.
Wish me luck on putting this puppy together.. it should be fun. :)
