how to switch OSD

I noticed from some of the screen shots through out this forum and on Mlbdude2's web site that the OSD is clear. meaning you can still make out the video behind it. Mine currently is solid and I have not been able to find a setting to control this. Thanks to anybody who can help me out with this.

enable color keying for clear menus with the video as background

or use VMR9 video rendering with 3D acceleration enabled and get transparent colored menus
