What would be the main advantages to getting the PVR-350 over the PVR-250? From what I can tell the 350 has FM tuner, TV out, and MPEG2 encoding. How does the CPU usage compare when encoding with either card?

Thanks in advance,

Dan.

you pretty much summed it up in your question :)

on a low-spec CPU or esp. mini-ITX systems the 350 is the only sensible choice as it keeps your cpu usage really low, or rather will do once sageTV has an option to disable the local display :)

Both cards do hardware encoding equally well ie around 5% cpu when in sleep mode. The main difference is the 350 has hardware decoding that is needed on low end systems running around 800mhz or so or most of the via c3 systems.

I have a 3GHz Intel so I should be able to "get by" with the PVR-250. :) Thanks for your responses.
