I don't know if SageTV is supporting non-english character files or not, but I thought i'd better ask here.

I am using Japanese Windows XP and running Sage TV. I have several movie files in Japanese file name. When I try to import those files in Sage TV, all the file names appear as bunch of squares. When I try to open them, I get this error saying the file path is not correct.

I am guessing the same thing might happen in Chinese, Korean, or other non alphabet based windows. Does SageTV even support non-english characters? if so, how can I enable it?

Thanks.

Ok, I figured out how to display the japanese characters. I just changed the font name in the property file and it worked fine. However, I am still getting an error when i try to open up the japanese named files.

can someone help me out?

Rename the files?

I'm sorry, but that's the only solution I could think of.

Well, that's an obvious solution. but thanks for replying though. :)

What I don't understand is howcome Sagetv does not support non-english character file names since the OS itself supports it?

that's what I am curious about..
